the camp ground is big! only a few were on the ocean - those are probably hard to get. we picked a spot, and then walked around. found the path to the ocean. steep hill going down. what a beautiful spot. I forgot my camera at the RV so couldn't take pictures and it was to much of a hike... More

We absolutely always have the best time here. Out of all the beaches this is our favorite and we tell everyone who asks that this is the one to visit to get a true feeling for our local beaches.

San Clemente beach is a nice beach but can get busy. Head to the left of the pier and be prepared to walk for a good 15 minutes and you will start to reach some nice secluded spots under the cliffs.

Great beach with lots of people enjoying the flat, wide beach. Lifeguards on duty and lot of room to find a nice spot. Can get very crowded in the summer so get here early. Places to get food nearby.

Expansive stretch of sand, lots of opportunities to walk from here. Up to the pier or down to Trestles to see the Old Nixon property. The train line passes through but that is not really a problem, it's hard not to just stare and the ocean and be hypnotized by the waves. We camped at the campground and there are... More

The ocean is always beautiful, but even better when it's not over populated and no litter. San Clemente takes very good care of their beaches and their environment. Beautiful scenery.

We had the best site in the whole campground. Don't want to say the number because it is already almost impossible to reserve. The weather was beautiful a little cloudy the first day and then clear and sunny! Camping, overlooking the ocean, in the 60's in November, I am in heaven.

Took the family here twice. Kids had fun making mountains of the pebbles and rocks they found. Water was relatively calm late in the afternoon. We came back the next morning and the waves were stronger along with the tide being higher. Sand was soft enough for kids to dig holes. Onsite bathrooms. There's a play area for kids including... I go usually at least weekly, very chill place. Also some good food around 😘 We love the Crepe place across the street from the pier.... Casanos Italian is really good also..... Fishermans has a awesome view, as it is on the pier..... just a great mellow place to go hang out.

We've been going to this beach for the last five years when we discovered it. It is clean, parking is close and inexpensive, free after 5pm. It's close to the pier. It's not a long walk to he water from the sand. Awesome sunsets!
