Fine for about a five minute visit. They did the best they could, but, basically, it's just an old adobe house that they didn't get around to bulldozing...

Unfortunately, San Jose has failed to preserve and honor its history. It has always focused on becoming larger and contemporary. The Peralta Adobe is one of the original houses in San Jose. The Fallon house has a long, interesting history. Both are worth seeing.

I walked to this area from the art museum. It's a pleasant stroll. As far as old homes go, these sites are interesting more for their stories than the actual structures. I doubt children would enjoy these sites as much as The Tech or Discovery Museum.

When I went there I had a marvelous tour. I loved going through the home because it was so authentic and the explanation of the family was esxscellent. I think it has a great deal to do with who the guide through the property is. It is not a full day and it takes about an hour or two to... More

The Peralta Adobe — Fallon House Historic Site is adjacent to San Pedro Market. This is also the area where there are many new high rise condos, and other restaurants. The historic homes have very pretty grounds. As such, you can get a cup of coffee (etc.) at San Pedro Market and then enjoy it in the garden area here.... More
