Great place for events -craft fairs, wine & beer tastings, etc. The Mission is right there, the Art Museum and Children's museum as well. Close to good restaurants. It's where the city began and has great historical value.

This plaza is filled with the Old Mission, gardens, tall shade trees, fountains, sculptures, a large playground and nice benches and tables. This is a great urban dwelling. This area attracts all kinds of people, so be on the lookout for issues.

Free, interesting, home to the San Luis Obispo Mission, the Plaza is a nice, friendly place. On Friday nights there are often bands playing here, and dancing.

Mission Plaza at San Luis Obispo is a lot of fun. It is beautiful, and you really feel like you are looking at the history of California. Perhaps it is just the ambiance of SLO, and Higuera, but I think they both complement each other. California missions are very special, in that they colonized the area before there was any... More

Concerts in the Plaza are the largest free concert series on the Central Coast. The 2016 concert series held every Friday starting June 10th until September 9th from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. features local talent and provides for a fun opportunity to bring your blankets, stay awhile and dance the night away under the stars!

If you visit SLO (or if you're a local), you'll definitely want to just take a stroll in the Mission Plaza. The ancient trees are some of the most beautiful in the downtown area, the view of the front of the mission is lovely, and there almost always seem to be people just walking, talking, and enjoying themselves. Also, directly... More
