Happened in this by accident in the way to the costal route SR1. I felt it was large since there is quite a pathway to walk through. Very surprised to see people thought it was small . Very peaceful and enjoyable. Would love to come back and spend even more time. Liked the different themed gardens.

Located inside a park area, the Botanical Gardens are still a work in progress. A modest $3 per car admission is most reasonable. Was very quiet there, not many visitors. The garden is well designed but very sparse in terms of exhibits. Those exhibits were not particularly informative. Later we would determine a trip to the gift shop and purchase... More

Botanical gardens are often a welcome change from the usual city attractions. Many of them are located directly within urban centers and are often a little noisier than I prefer. But others are situated away from the city for a more peaceful experience. Such is the case with the San Luis Obispo Botanical Gardens, located north of downtown. San Luis... More

Small but well kept garden. Great arrangements and a nice way to spend a couple hours outside. You can hike in the outlying areas of the park also.

We went to the San Luis Botanical Garden. We went mid week on a free entrance day. The botanical garden is in El Chorro Regional Park in San Luis Obispo. The botanical park was established October 22. 1994. Its a very pretty park. They also have a nice presentation hall. For example, they had a "how to make a wreath"... More

Off of State Highway 1 El Chorro Regional Park has a natural Botanical Garden with some very interesting plants that are native to the region. It is a quiet and peaceful place. There are many wildlife in the garden, like hummingbirds, among others. Lots of friendly lizards, and non-threatening bees. It is a small garden about I/4 acre, but very... More

This was a botanical gardens within a State Park so it is a question mark when you arrive. You pay your State Park day pass and then you go 1/3 down the road to the botanical garden parking lot. The Mediterranean Section was great and amazed me. I really enjoyed all of the California Poppies and other sedums that I... More

I went there and used the map for a self guided tour. The plants were fairly well labeled and it was easy to walk around. I don't think it would be good if you can't walk without help, (ie with cane, walker, or wheelchair). I am from the east coast so seeing all the plants that can grow in the... More

The gardens is not fancy but has a lot to see and do. The interactive children's garden is great for kids. My grandkids love it. The human sun dial at the top of the hill is interesting and the hike to eagle rock is good exersize.

You can visit this place, but their garden is still a work in progress. It looks like their future plans, include various kinds of gardens and a tram to take you to all these gardens. For now, it is just a hill, with different kinds of plants, that can be grown easily in California. It is a good hike, to... More
