A popular tourist stop, this 207 acre complex houses a library, art collection and stunning gardens. The library and art gallery contain rare books and one of the most complete collections of 18th century art outside of London.

Our visit was to see the Tiffany exhibit but touring around to see just some of the other exhibits was wonderful. There were some Bertoia sculptures that were very unlike his typical work and amazing to see. The collection of arts and crafts and Frank...More

I am embarrassed to admit that I have lived in California my entire life and never had visited here before. It is simply amazing. We only spent about three hours there so saw a small portion of the 200 acres. But everything we saw was...More

The gardens are well worth your time and cost of the visit as a nature photographer. This short review covers only the two Asian (Chinese and Japanese) gardens, which is a subset of all botanical gardens in Huntington Library. There is a gap close to...More

You can enjoy Huntington Library year-round. My favorite time is when the rose gardens are in bloom, but there are attractions that are to be enjoyed no matter what the season. The cactus garden is like an alien landscape, not to be missed. We enjoy...More

It is hard to prioritize what to see when you visit the Huntington - it not only has a world famous library (the Gutenberg Bible, manuscripts of works by Jack London, a letter from Charles I to a supporter shortly before he was executed, the...More

We enjoyed the experience overall, but do to the expansive facilities a shuttle service of some sort would have been indispensable. Perhaps that was what the golf carts were for, but it was unclear. Thanks. Otherwise 5 $tars *****

I would expect the first week of December to be very pleasant. Rain is a possibility, but the variety of gardens and the indoor art and library collections make it a great place any time of year.

Not to sit on the grass, but there are plenty of tables for you to sit at in multiple gardens. I did see some people sitting down but no real picnic baskets.
