The castle is surrounded by fields of exotic animals. The outdoor swimming pool area view of the ocean is breath taking.

We just can back from a trip to Cambria. We stopped to check out the Hearst Castle because everyone talks about it. It was cool to see the grandeur and luxury the castle brought back in its time. However, $25 a person is a little...More

We have been to Hearst Castle several times with our now 11 and 13 year olds and we have been around the United States - love going there. Definitely take more than one tour, to see the sprawling Castle. My favorite part of the Castle...More

I shouldn't love to live in the past or with such ostentatious displays of privilege. It, however, is my guilt pleasure. There many more tours now than the last time I was at the Castle in 1990-ish, I'd love to go back and do the...More

Was not overly thrilled. The only thing I liked about the place were the gardens. The castle itself was downright ugly and the furniture dark and uninviting. I do not understand why a location with such a great view would be wasted on dark rooms...More

Our tour guide was amazingly knowledgeable about everything! He’d worked there for over 40 years and did an awesome job explaining the Hearst family, the history of the family, the history of the castle, the art, artifacts, paintings, sculptures, tapestries, gardens, and how Mr Hearst...More

Hearst Castle has been on my bucket list forever. It is not on the beaten path being half way between LA and San Francisco so it needs to be a destination. Do yourself a favor and spend a week in San Luis Obispo County. There...More
