We stopped at this museum before leaving Santa Barbara. A lovely building to explore art in. Admission is free because they are renovating. We stayed a little over an hour and thought they had a good collection. Not overwhelming like the large museums but still had interesting paintings, photos and sculptures. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking to do... More

I visited this museum on 29 dec 2016, we spent around 3+ hours here. Paintings really stir your soul. You will find paintings from Van Gogh, Monet .. And many other great masters. I saw video art also, there was a kind gentleman in the gallery who was very eager to talk about art and displays, he made our visit... More

The permanent collection is really exceptional for a smaller city. However, ongoing renovations do limit what can be displayed at any given time. There is currently no charge for admission. Despite the limited exhibition space during the project, the museum is definitely worth visiting.

This is a AAA gem, but we were sorely disappointed. I believe much of the collection was packed away and what was left was not very impressive. We will have to try again in a few years once construction is complete.

Had a good time visiting the museum but much of it and its collections are undergoing renovation. The exhibits they have out are very good. Took us about an hour and a half to see all. Museum has a very nice store.

Under some renovation, but interesting all the same. Go! Wonderful exhibition going on from Britain in the 40's.

We happened to visit on a free day. Renovation is in progress (Fall 2016) so the exhibit space is smaller than normal. There is quite a bit of Asian art. I liked the variety and hope to go back when the renovations are done.
