This scenic street provides many unique shops for clothing, knick knacks, and treasures. Not to mention the delicious food and dessert along the way!

Lots of fun shops and restaurants on either side of State Street. Electric shuttle runs every 15 minutes in the summer months, every 30 minutes all other times.

I rate only three stars because some parts of the streets a lot of businesses are closed and there is a lot of homeless. It reminded me a little of Hollywood boulevard. Some great restaurants and boutiques. definitely worth the visit but somehow felt not safe.

This is the main street that goes through town. It is spotless and lovely, packed with nice shops and lovely restaurants. We visited the lovely city a few times during our stay in California, summer 2016. On one of the days, there was a summer solstice celebration, the city was packed with people, and there was a big parade through... More

Scenic place to have the ladies shop and the guys enjoy what the street has to offer. People showing of their (historic) cars or motorcycles. Interesting people hanging around and plenty shops. Parking can be tricky. We visited on a Sunday and parking along the road (marked sections only) are without limitations. It's also a nice road for biking to... More

We stayed in downtown Santa B for our last night in California. State street is an interesting mix of shops..bars..restaurants. There are empty stores next to bustling ones. I watched in one store as the clerks started to chase after some homeless guy who just lifted a bottle of wine ! they then stopped and laughed. Its a fun place... More

Just happened upon the show that closes off the Main Street. Hundred of vintage cars, a band and the beautiful Jacaranda trees. What's not to like. Loads of bars and restaurants to choose from too.

I remarked to my wife, more than once, that Santa Barbara might be the most beautiful city I have ever been in. I can't say enough about its cleanliness, it's climate, its people, its sights and its establishments. It is the kind of place you just feel good in, due in large part to the goings-on in and around State... More

Its a cute little shopping street with lot of nice shops and historic buildings, nice eateries . Nice places for wine tasting . Very friendly people. The Italian ceramic gallery is an attraction. Round it up with a visit to the Santa Barbara Art Museum at the end. The local ice creams are fantastic.

Over all State Street is very nice, but remember it is only an open air mall from top to bottom. One in eight stores had gone out of business but that is common for malls.
