A very nice area with lots of boutique shopping and restaurants. There are some other stores H&M, Marshalls, if you are not into boutiques.

Under a starlit sky, we were walking down the sidewalk heading towards a restaurant just beyond the underpass. Suddenly, we heard some rustling coming from the bushes right beside us. Lo and behold, there were RATS climbing all over the hedge. EEEEK! We turned around...More

I thought it odd to find an underpass as an attraction but, since I used it over 30 times during my two-week stay here in January-February, I certainly feel qualified to review it! I had to walk from the harbor/wharf area up State Street and...More

Was walking from beach up to restaurant/shop area and was surprised by the design of the overpass. Obviously good planning for a busy traffic area of the city. Was especially nice because it started raining during our walk. Lots of interesting shops on either side....More

It is rather odd to review an underpass but I used it so...it works. Traffic in this part of Santa Barbara used to be horrendous. The underpass has helped that situation. I hesitated in using the underpass because I was not sure how safe it...More

This is a nice stroll to take thru state street, especially since it takes you all the way thru downtown and to Stearns Wharf at the end.

I hadn't been here for years - it looked a bit run down with chain stores (and not high end ones) - Marshalls, a Off 5th Saks that was going out of business, H&M, etc. I had heard there was an increasing homeless issue on...More

This road let’s Santa Barbara down, closed shops, shops full of cheap tat and a shabby dirty feel about it however there are some nice shops and cafes etc in amongst it all.

The main drag of Santa Barbara [other than the beach]. Lots of shopping, food and eye candy. Loved the pianos on the corners where people just randomly sit down and play.

I've been coming to Santa Barbara for a gazillion years and I've seen State Street decline over the last few years. I've never seen so many empty storefronts. And the quality of the stores have changed... generally for the worse. The unfortunate departure of Macys...More

Best bet would be to take a hop-on, hop-off trolley. Direct, not from the ship, most ship trolley tours are none stop.
