Since 1987, Sunset Kidd's offers Sailing Cruises along the Beautiful Santa Barbara Coastline. Based upon a love of sailing, this is not a typical tourist ride! We turn the engine off and showcase our love for the sport. Yes, it's wind in the sails and water lapping up against the boat... that's what we offer. This is NOT a narrated "tourist" type of ride, where the engine stays on! If you're a sailor, then we invite you to participate in the handling of our beautiful 41 foot sailing ketch. Our thoughts: People come to Santa Barbara to get away from the crowds... so we are thinking about heading out onto the Pacific Ocean... packing 49 passengers or more on a sailboat is like.... STAYING IN LOS ANGELES! Sunset Kidd's maximum passenger load is only 15 passengers.

Sunset Kidd is a lovely sailing trip right out of Santa Barbara harbour. They provide a good value 2 hour sailing outing in a low key comfortable environment. Highly recommend. It gets you out in the bay and you see the beautiful shoreline and some marine life.

This was a lovely thing to do - a beautifully relaxed trip out into the bay to watch the sunset over Santa Barbara. We had a bottle of wine from the boat's well-stocked, and well-selected, bar, and a lovely time chatting to the crew and other guests. The captain, Alyssa, is wonderfully engaging and friendly, and it all made for... More

Decided to take A sailboat ride on the American Riviera. Although it was s beautiful day a lot colder when the wind blew out in the open. For some unknown reason we declined the blanket they offered after we got splashed good. The 1st mate took some pics of us so we could be in them together. It was beautiful... More

Had a great time on a Sunset Kidd sunset sail. The night we went was a full moon, so had an even more special experience. The captain (female!) and her first mate were great - very knowledgeable and personable. They have a cash bar and will serve you drinks, which makes the trip even more fun. Beautiful sunset and sites!

The cloudless sky, gentle breezes, full moon and some great Santa Barbara wines made this 1.5 hour sail very enjoyable. Dennis, introduced us to some wonderful wines as we sailed along loving the moon and night lights on the wharf, harbor and coastline. I would highly recommend this sailing company to anyone. The wine cruises would be best enjoyed by... More

The ocean was chill, the dolphin playful, the custom built ketch comfortable and capable and the cerveza cold. Captain and deck crew delivered informative, impeccable and friendly service. We will be back to sail again, highly reccomended.

We were down on the waterfront exploring when we came across Sunset Kidd sailing cruise. On a whim we went out with them and had a great sail. The staff were super friendly and accommodating to all the guests. They took us out for a two hour sail and we saw a group of dolphins who came by for a... More

As a local, I can confidently say that the Sunset Kidd is one of the best yachts for sailing and whale watching excursions in Santa Barbara. They (the crew) were friendly, courteous and experienced, and the customer service provided at the main office is exceptional. The "barefooted" crew, is a nickname that I playfully gave to the captain and first... More

We went on the 1.5 hour sunset cruise and even brought our puppy (he loved the wind on his face)! We all loved every minute of it. Easy, fun, reasonably priced, gorgeous scenery. We were lucky that the dolphins were jumping around us. Highly recommend!

Full disclosure: we found this 2 hour cruise because we had several requirements, it had to be safe for kids aged 9 and 11, and it had to be reasonably priced, and it had to be short. Check. Check. Check. In addition, the captain is friendly and announced at the onset that there would be no music, no narration. Perfect.... More
