Very clean and breathtaking views. Quite and very relaxing great place to just unwind. A little but tough to find parking but worth the walk. Be ready to walk down lots of stairs.... then back up at the end of the day.

I grew up in Santa Barbara and now come back to visit family here. I used to go to this beach as a kid and loved it for the beauty, tide pools, waves and privacy. Nowadays it's not super crowded but not peaceful as there...More

I walk the beaches along the Mesa most every morning. If I'm energetic I like 1000 steps. BTW... it's actually closer to 400 steps in reality. You can only walk the beach when the tide is out so check your tide charts first. It is...More

Really impressive beach. We really enjoyed seeing the cave and all of the multi million dollar beach houses, some of which have elevators to get rich home owners to and from the beach faster. The challenge of this beach is the parking. You have to...More

Not exactly 1000 steps, but was up for the challenge. Need to be very careful when going down the stairs...but when you do...paradise awaits! Didn't check the tide, a little high, but was still able to walk on the beach. So relaxing and the view...More

The thousand step beach is actually 150 stone steps down to the beach. There are no rails and the steps are very worn in some places and slippery when wet. No access at high tide so make sure you don't get caught. Not good for...More

Thousand Steps Beach is Worth the Steps! The views are amazing and the fresh salty sea air sometimes cooler - so dress in layers!

Plenty of dog walkers and not all were diligent about cleaning up after their animals. At least the beach is cleaned by the tide daily!
