We visited the market on State street three consecutive weeks. Vendors were lined for two blocks. Being from the east, we don't get oranges picked the day before or the other yummy goods during winter. Some of the best tomatoes and beautiful flowers ever. I think I will miss the market most when we leave.

Friendly people, its located in the middle of downtown so very convenient. The fruit and veggies are very pricey but definitely worth the quality and flavor. Its mostly farmed in SB county so some veggies will depend on its season and weather.

Lots of variety, friendly producers and a selection of musicians. Some seasonal specialities and always a wide variety of staples, plants and flowers. Bring your market basket and fill it up.

This is the most colorful, largest farmers market I have seen. Wonderful local and organic fruits and vegetables. Wide variety and specialty items like cherimoya, kefir lime and purple watermelon. Also local honey and locally made items like bath salts, soaps and scrubs. Purchase huge, in bloom orchid plants for $15.

We stumbled upon the market in State St on Tuesday evening and decided to visit the full Saturday market. Glad we did. We're here on holiday so were limited with what we could buy but left with a huge bag of fruit - including some of the sweetest plums I've ever eaten and huge tasty peaches. It was interesting walking... More

We stopped to see how good the farmers market was on Saturday and found a parking spot in front of a place that we'll have to try next time that sold cinnamon rolls. Back to the market, it was a decent size and had everything from veggies, fruit , breads, plants, flowers, jam, hummus to oils. The people were friendly... More

Offerings here include mussels, avocado, mind blowing citrus varieties. Fresh cheeses, honey, and great veggies. No stalls offering meals. Lots of fun to see locals doing their thing. Very typical southern California.

It was good to taste done of the different foods on show and all stall holders were fairly friendly. Good atmosphere. Some price differences for similar produce . We purchased some very nice strawberries but unlike the British ones they didn't stay ripe for long despite being in a fridge . Would recommend a visit

Not to the level of the San Luis Obispo Farmers Market. Almost all fruits, veggies and honey/jellies. Some people playing instruments for tips. One particular young boy playing the violin. Worth the trip, and I love the city.

The Saturday market is a great scene and jam packed in all seasons, but August means the peak of the tomato season and I go for both the best tomatoes for slicing and also for "over ripe" reduced price tomatoes for sauce. Yum!
