We have visited Santa Cruz Wharf many times. This time we went around sunset. We liked seeing the sea lions. There were lot of them. We then enjoyed dinner at The Dolphin. There is a parking fee to visit the Wharf.

Having visited Pier 39 in San Francisco and Monterey Wharf there isn't a huge difference. Shops and restaurants abound with great views out into the bay, the ever present sea lions and sea birds. Saying that you still feel like you have to take the...More

Old time wharf, lots of sea lions sitting under shards, cut out for viewing. Good view of amusement park on beach. Expensive parking, meters are best if you can get one (1.50/hour) . Kitchy, old time vibe. Breezy walk and nice views of ocean front.

We would never come to Santa Cruz and not stop in at the Wharf. Loads of shops and restaurants, but the viewing of the seals and sea lions is amazing. Could gaze at them for hours! You can also rent kayaks, and there is lots...More

The only place I will eat on the wharf. I try to make the 35 mile trip once a month just to order the luncheon crab salad which has no shortage of crab and even the bread that is from a local bakery is delicious....More

Parking - they don't validate - $10 a trip. Love the wharf in general - a night out with dinner, drinks, and walk down the pier was great. There are places to watch and listen to seals here (opposite of restaurants) so great place to...More

Parking is crazy here. We had to go around the block a few times to find a car park, and they charged us $20. There is still lots to see and do if you don't want to spend money on rides and it does not...More

The pier is dead during the morning and weekdays (which is when I visited). I used to visit 50+ years ago and it has changed little over the years although it should! It is tired and in need of sprucing up. The area around it...More

I didn't see anything that big parked on the wharf. There is a lot of parking by the amusement park on the boardwalk, so I would try there. If you are staying in the rv, sea cliff state beach has rv spots right on the ocean... More
