This is the kind of place that kids would love, being able to see past the tarnish, touches of grime, and multiple cart vendors selling the same instant artwork based on your name or putting your name on a grain of rice. As an adult,...More

Nice walk, end of route 66, tourist trap but that makes for the best people watching. Grabbed some food (nachos and salsa is a good bargain) some good views.

Watch the sunset. A place to pick up a rapidly drawn portrait of yourself or a couple. Avoided as an adult the expensive rides, junk food and tacky souvenirs. So a free area to enjoy nature.

the history of the pier is an interesting read, the amenities could be cleaner as the are always being used but not much care in cleanliness. the rides on the pier are average but we had a good time here!

fun atmosphere, and very nice especially in the evening with all the lights on, mingling with the crowd, enjoying the attractions. Some great restaurants in the area, parking can be tough, go to the public ones

The pier offers great eating choices and and a fun side with the rides and entertainment. It gets quite busy on the weekends and easy to walk around during the week.

What a nice feel of England on the west coast of the US. A wooden pier with a mix of funfair rides, food concessions selling “sugar” and assorted tat for sale - excellent. Superb sunset views from the end - catered for by two excellent...More

Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a

roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the
famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles
weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa
Monica pier spins high above the water, while park
revelers scream with delight riding the roller

Sorry I didn't see your question earlier. I think it would be a very cool place to go on a first date: great location, fun ambiance and very relaxed.
