The obsidian deposits in Annadel were highly utilized by the Wappo and Pomo Indians since prehistoric times. They fashioned the glasslike obsidian into points (arrowheads), choppers, scrapers, and other tools. Remnants of worked obsidian are abundant and will be found almost anywhere in the park....More

Weather was absolutely perfect – like me – and it was the ideal setting for a nice walk with a charming young lady. First time here and October was really nice, I’d love to see it in the spring.

Located in the heart of Santa Rosa, this park offers some of the most challenging mountain biking around. Plus, the views from the top are amazing. If you're hiking, keep a watchful eye for mountain bikers charging down trails at 30 mph.
