Easy level loop trail

Excellent crushed rock ( not paved) trail. Occasional trail to wet for my tennis shoes, needed my hiking boots. Great landscape photography. Enjoy.

This is one of the newer parks in the county. The trail is paved, Bring your own water and the bathroom accommodations are at the trail heads There are a few benches, but you need to go walk halfway to find them. Kayaking is during flood rains in winter (Jan-March) Care should be taken, the picture on the site shows... More

I really like the shaded parts of the trail. There are many opportunities to observe woodpeckers and song birds.

We go in from south parking lot off hwy 12, just before bridge leading into town. Park in gravel lot just past or before Gas Station. We hike north along path to north parking lot about 1.5 miles and return. Hike goes thru wetlands and vineyards. Take your camera and binoculars.

The laguna seems to attract lots of birds, including accidental migrants as well as local "usual suspects". If you're not a birder, the trails are great for walking and/or jogging. But there's not much shade. At some times of the year, the grass can get high along some of the trails, so be careful to do a "tick check" upon... More

The Laguna de Santa Rosa is a little gem just east of Sebastopol. There is parking available from Hwy 12 on the south, from Occidental road on the north side, or from Morris Ave in Sebastopol on the west side. There are many intersecting paths that weave their way through and alongside the laguna. Close to the Laguna water one... More

I paddle this every winter/spring when the rains turn the Laguna into a huge lake and bird sanctuary. We will put in at either Sebastopol or Occidental road and paddle to River Road. You can also just paddle around eithither location. I use Kayaks, SUP and even rafts.

This new-ish addition to the Sonoma County Regional Parks system is a nice walk, mostly flat. The best time to go is in the morning before the sun gets too high in the sky as it can get fairly warm. The best part of the Laguna is to bird watch. There is a great variety of birds here and they... More

This is a great walk, we go here with my 2 year old. It's nice and flat so not too strenuous for her. Plus, if you walk down to the creek and across the bridge, there is a children's park, too. For reference, this listing puts this location on College ave which is not correct, this is out on HWY... More

I stop as often as I can to walk about the Laguna de Santa Rosa. Going there over time has allowed me to discover and experience the feelings of nature as described by writers like John Muir, Loren Eiseley, Gary Snyder and many other naturalists and poets. Like consciousness these feelings can't be simply called forth but a quiet walk... More
