Great area for an afternoon ride while visiting the Wineries

Neat area for wine tasting and sightseeing. Interesting towns of Santa Ynez, Los Olivos and Solvang also worth a visit.

Just 40 miles north of Santa Barbara. Scenery is great. Many wineries to explore. Great dining options. Solvang is a fun place to shop or just walk around.Good Danish bakeries,Take route 154 out of Santa Barbara for a very scenic drive.

The scenery is stunning: Golden hills broken up only by a stately old oak tree or a hillside of grape vines. Wonderful small, quaint towns with wine tasting rooms and the usual fun tourist stuff. Solvang used to be wonderful, but I enjoy Los Olivos more now. There is a casino, but I have never stopped there. Spending the day... More

Such a nice, quiet area to visit. Would have loved to walk around, just a little too chilly in February.

The Santa Ynez Valley emulates very well the Rhine wine region of France, and this is the type of wine you should be seeking coming to this valley. Most well known as the Syrah and Viognier, as you will find it is excellent in this region. Many other varietals being grown. And the landscapes are beautiful.

By far one of the most diverse areas, with horseback riding, biking, wine tasting, beer tasting. The most fresh and delicious cusine out there.

........and the wine is just as good. Don't pass a visit here for more expensive 'wine destinations'.

Santa Ynez valley is well known for its wineries and the town of Solvang , a tourist place with a lot of Danish influence. There are some other small towns like Los Olivos and Los Alamos worth a visit, in combination with a cup of coffee or lunch. The mission in Solvang is also worth a visit.

Beautiful scenery, great wineries, a casino, and cute little towns. This is a great way to spend a few days in Central California. Oh yeah, only 40 minutes from a beach, Great.
