Great beach

Be sure you visit the marine mammal care center and also plan time for hikes around the beach. There are tons of historic and beautiful things to see.

Small beach area to relax and do a little surfing. There is limited parking and you can park at Marine Mammal Center as it's only 0.4 mile walk to beach. Weekends are crowded w traffic mostly. It's one way in and out now due to construction so be ready to sit in your car. I say go early in Am... More

Gem of a beach just across the Golden Gate Bridge in Marin County. Part of the Marin Headlands sector of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The grainy sand beach is just chock full of small gemstones and the inter-tidal life really flourishes. It's also a good place for a picnic and hiking, especially up on the bluffs and around... A volcanic beach with coarse grains and a beautiful view! We came across this beach when we were driving to see a lighthouse (that CLOSES at 3:30) and we were very pleasantly surprised to see that there was lots of parking and no large crowds, even though it was 80F on the Columbus Day weekend. A nice place to go... More

Nice Beach rates a 4! Traffic - oy: rates a -5!! The very large beach was quite enjoyable with adequate public facilities. There are lots of trails to walk that overlook the coast as well. The traffic to get there, or when you leave, takes you through a one-way tunnel. Traffic has to alternate, hence the loooong delays. Park police... More

Rodeo beach is in a great area of Marin County. There are a plenty of hiking trails and view points to overlook the coast and see the surrounding area. Not to mention the big gun that was used as defence during WW2. A little slice of history mixed with natural beauty makes Rodeo beach a worthy visit.

We visited this beach just as the sun was coming out after a grey start and it was wonderfully quiet and scenic. Good for nature lovers - there's an interesting wet land behind with information about wildlife. Easy parking. Former military barracks behind. Very good visitor centre nearby.

Quick trip the beach from San Rafael. Love the waves. We tried to see as many beaches as we could. They are all a little different.
