Hi punkin98, I really like your review because it describes what we are trying to offer people who are really interested in looking at really rare and unusual motorcycles. I think some of the signs are pretty funny too. And there really are so many different bikes. We have over 100 in the Museum, all unique and no two are... More

Housed in a rather low-key, inconspicuous location on Alisal Road a couple of blocks down from the Corque Hotel in Solvang, this museum has an impressive array of motorcycles - most of them vintage. Whether you are looking for race bike fit for an Isle of Man race, a mighty 1960s 'Boxer', a low-riding "Indian" or an iconic "Gold Wing"... More

As a motor bike enthusiast, I was keen to see exactly what they had to show. WOW what a collection. European, USA and Japanese. They are all here. Even my old Triumph. I was lucky enough to get to talk to a tour guide and get some inside information. Make sure you call before you go to check opening times.... More

Hello James, I am so glad you enjoyed your visit! I remember your group and I was asked 3 different questions that I have never been asked before - in 16 years! Yours was a group who knew their bikes - very well. But that is one of the reasons I love opening the Museum for visitors - I learn... More

I've been wanting to see the museum for several years and when a rainy day came along on one of my rare visits to the area my host suggested we go to the museum. The bikes are either pristine or excellent originals. The range of the collection is quite broad and there are several absolute jewels with names such as... More

Thank You, Jonathon! We are so pleased to hear of your great experience in the Vintage Motorcycle Museum in Solvang. You are right about the broad collection - the collection has grown incrementally since we opened in March 2000, and we've got about 100 bikes in the Museum at any given time. Very rare, indeed. Thank you for your wonderful... More

A little off the beaten path. Well-lit, quiet and pretty interesting. The person who collected the fees was glued to a football game on his tablet. A half-hearted offer to answer any questions, so I'm thinking he really didn't mean it. For those who are attracted to this kind of collection, it's worth the effort.

Hello ajsaxman559, I am sorry to hear that our docent was glued to his tablet. I'll talk to him - normally, he's a pretty easy going and friendly guy. But I am really glad that you liked the collection of bikes. We are a bit hard to find because the City of Solvang doesn't allow businesses to put up any... More

And WOW to you, too Sonoma Charlie! Thank you for the wonderful review. I have worked in the Management Office of the 100,000 sq. ft. facility since the owner bought it in 2000, and have been lucky enough to open for people who want to come in during the week. Hello bigmamashouse, Indeed, it is a private collection of over 200 motorcycles with 100 in the Museum at any given time. The collection contains the rarest of rare motorcycles, some of which you will not see in any other museum in the world. And yes, the property used to be an outlet mall of all things. But when the owner... More

I'm not that into motorcycles, but I still enjoyed this extensive collection. Some very rare motorcycles with good, brief explanation of each. Worth the $10 fee for admission, which can't begin to cover expenses for this place. The owner just really wants to share his collection and love for motorcycles!
