Straight out of a story book town. I enjoyed looking at the used books upstairs and the museum portion was interesting. I had no idea he came up with the mermaid!

Very nice museum. I was able to step back and understand the life of Hans Christian Andersen. From his early life and works up to his death. Lots of artifacts to see and read about his life. Well presented. And its all free. Put it on your list of things to visit!

It's on the second floor of a bookstore and there is a small cafe downstairs as well. Museum won't take a longtime to view but is worth a stop to check it out amongst your day of activities in Solvang.

To tell the truth one expects more from a childhood Hero's Museum. And the people working there, except the frightening cross faced Lady at the upstairs office, are very friendly and seem to be volunteer amateurs. Book collection is great though the "Museum" is very very small. İ also liked the Souveniers and bought some and one of the ladşes... More

Very nice, small museum. They feature quite an extensive amount of info on HCA's life, work, family, art, and writings. Our family learned things we did not know about HCA and came to appreciate his talents even more. You could spend a few hours or few minutes depending on your desire to learn about HCA.

It is very small but has a lot of information. I did not know he was talented at paper cut outs as well. It really is a nice collection.

Tiny but filled with information on HCA. My teen enjoyed the bookstore downstairs. Museum needs some freshening up.

Located on the second floor of the Book Loft, an independent book store, this homage to Andersen is really nice to see. I honestly did not know much about him, other than the more famous stories. The displays give a nice overview, and there are many options of his books to purchase. I bought a complete works of his fairy... More

Hans Christian Andersen Museum is a nice little place ran by volunteers, who are very interested in listening to news from Denmark and of cause specific about HCA. As quest notice some First Edition Books by HCA, examples of his paper cuttings among many other interesting things you maybe didn't know about HCA and Denmark. Don't forget to pay a... More
