This was our 2nd visit to Nicholson Ranch Winery. We love this winery! Good wines, great background on the wines and beautiful scenery! The fires did touch parts of Nicholson Ranch and you can see the “scars” on the buildings. Glad we could support them!

I spent 90 minutes here with a tour group from a bus. We visited 3 wineries that day, and this was the best experience of the 3. The dark-haired lady who greeted us spoke well with good information. She walked us through one of the...More

Stopped here as a part of a tour. Driver/tour guide made it clear there was a $15 tasting fee. I get it. However, as we arrived we were immediately taken away from the tasting room and up a slope outdoors to a table with wine...More

We toured the Nicholson estate with the Platypus tours where we saw 4 wineries, this was the most impressive as far as the grounds are concerned. The estate was vast with great views. The guide took us through an extensive tour of the facilities with...More

I suggest doing the more expensive tasting and getting the two extra glasses of wine and enjoying the tasting outside on the patio. Just do it - you won't regret it. That's what we did, or at least half of us did. And while none...More

We booked on the Platypus wine tour (reviewed separately), where we visited four locations - and the Nicholson Ranch was the high point, both in terms of the wines we tasted, the commentary from our host (Mike) and the tour of the vineyard and facilities.

A very beautiful farm and a winemaker passionate about his wines which are worthy to be compared to the best French wines. To visit absolutely during a stay in San Francisco.

While tasting the high quality pinot noir and chardonnay wines, we soaked up stunning views of the Sonoma valley. Very classy, well worth a visit. We visited as part of the Green Dream Tours, a day trip from San Francisco. Highly recommend this tour which...More

We were on a tour (just 4 or us) and the operator just took us there. But this was in January, so not crowded either. A call ahead is probably smart if you want to take the tour, which was interesting and educational. And... More
