You must visit this cheese shop where most all the cheeses are made on site. The lady at the counter was so helpful and friendly and gave us numerous samples and discussed the qualities of the various cheeses we were trying. They are known for their dry jack cheeses and have a large number of ribbons for them. It is... More

The cheese and folks who make the cheese are the best! The knowledge that they share with the customers and the generous samples will make you want to order more after visiting them!

After biking to and visiting several great wineries, our tour passed by The Vella Cheese Company. Everyone there was very friendly, and the samples were delicious. Nice way to cap off the day

I've used their cheese for a variety of salads, pastas and hors d' ouevres and have never been disappointed. It's a cheese unique to the world and from Sonoma.

We visited this location as part of a Segway tour and really enjoyed it. We were shown how they make the cheese and were given many samples to try. There was no pressure to buy, but we purchased quite a bit. The staff was very friendly.

A little off the beaten path...but well worth the short walk. Plus, getting to see the Clydesdales and their babies next door is a total bonus. Got to sample lots of cheeses and left with a bag full.

My husband's family has been buying cheese the Sonoma Dry Jack Special Select for years. I have forced myself to try other cheeses and the have all been excellent quality. But I go back to the Special Select. Love the staff. It is a local family owned business. Traveled back to my home state of Kansas and the restaurant was... More

This is a special place and worth the walk or drive a few blocks form the square. Their mezzo second and flowered jack cheeses are terrific.

Some of the best cheese you will ever have. Made old-school (you can even watch if you'd like!) The simple and classic methods obviously produce the best cheese. We stopped here during our segway tour and have been ordering cheese to NJ ever since! Good part about their cheeses they can be left out for 5-7 days for aged and... More

The best cheese in Sonoma! Most tourists go to the factory on the square and are missing the best cheese in town. I especially love the rosemary jack.
