Sunol Regional Park has fantastic trails and the Little Yosemite Falls are worth the hike. There are two parts to the park. The area on the side of Pleasanton has several long hikes and the side near Fremont has a nature center and the waterfalls. Both have very scenic views and you might get to see some cows grazing right... More

In short words, beautiful landscape, sky, and mountains. beautiful wild flower and wild life. I guess we got there in the best season of year. I wish we start earlier, 7-8 morning, we reached there 11 1m which was warmer and crowded. take water, cap, sun cream, .... Just get there before spring passes. On weekends and vacations you have... Sunol is great for both experienced and beginning hikers, including families with children. Beautiful throughout the year, and particularly in spring, Sunol offers a number of hikes to higher elevations around the park including the McGuire Peaks, Flag Hill, Mission Peak, and Mt. Rose via the Ohlone Wilderness. Take plenty of water for longer hikes, as recently there hasn't been... More

Visited on a sunny day after some winter rains. I think this is a great time to visit. The creek was full and running high. The hills were beautiful shades of green. The map gave some descriptions of the hikes and armed with that info, you can pick a hike at your level. The park wasn't very crowded which was... More

This park was really an amazing example of what the first settlers must have seen when they arrived. The visitor center barn is being redone so you must go next door to the older cabin for info. The modern outhouses are clean & stocked with TP, no water or hand cleaners. Some picnic tables around; multiple but limited parking areas.... More

Sunol regional is nice. I like that it's spread out and trails don't get crowded. There are different levels of difficulties. There is also what is known as 'Little Yosemite' it is a small waterfall and swimming hole for kids in the summer. Wear sunblock, there's no shade.

We came here after the 4th attempt because of the rains. By the time it became sunny, its almost summer. We missed the green hills, the many blooms and the nice breeze. Overall it was a fun day. We came really early for our picnic and hike, around 8:30. We got the best picnic table on a shaded spot. We... More

A March visit to this park reminded me of how superb it is. Three of us did a long loop hike of just over 7 miles, which took us up to a high point with terrific views and through multiple habitats. A decent season of rain in California brought out a wildflower abundance not seen in several years. We counted... More

A quick get-away for the weekend. It attracts much lesser crowd than other popular places. Rolling green plateaus with wild cattle, a little creek brimming during spring and wildflowers make it an ideal destination for a Saturday. Unlike other state parks, this is maintained by East Bay. Hence, the amenities are on a smaller scale. There are 3-4 parking lots... More
