Worth the hike

This is a short hike (on a closed road) to see a great view, and well worth the time and energy. Easy to get to... and when you get to the top, make sure you walk around the trail.

We took our three year old up this trail with a stroller. A nice short hike (1/2 mile maybe). Fantastic panoramic views of Crystal Bay and Agate Bay. There were wind surfers above us. We will have to do it again.

We asked the advice of a local shopkeeper where to go in Lake Tahoe and it led us here to this gem. Drive down the main strip past Kings Beach and make a left on Biltmore rd and a right at the water tower and go straight on up until you see the gate, then hike all the way up... More

Top of the Lake Tahoe lookout!! You're high above the stateline area and can see the immensity of Lake Tahoe and its beautiful colored waters from this high perch. The climb is not bad and mostly done by car going up the access road to the area.

The trail wasn't too hard to find, based on others instructions, but most of it was too steep, and covered in pine needles (making us slide back down). I'm sure it's a great view at the top, we just had issues, even in good hiking shoes, so we didn't finish.

Short steep 1/4 mile walk from parking area up behind the Biltmore Casiso. Old fire lookout, now a well planned out historical trailed path with plenty of explanation posters and signs regarding flora, fauna, geography and more. View the entire lake, often photographer do great work here for dawn and sunsets, the secret asset few visit.

It is a bit difficult to find the road to where to park before beginning your hike. Park is very limited on a rather narrow street. Once you have parked you must hike to the top.once at the top, the view is breath taking...very spectacular and well worth the climb! Thankfully much of the hike was shaded. Your view of... More

You must climb up Stateline Lookout. I think I took a few hundred pictures. Once on top we thought we were going to cry. The view was just unreal, truly breathtaking!!

Altho a bit hard to find (Reservoir Road is just east of the Tahoe Biltmore), there is adequate parking space -- though right on the narrow street. The views across Crystal Bay were great as well as the views at the top of the lookout at about 7100 feet. Although the old fire road was mostly in the shade, I... More

Very limited street parking. 125 uphill yds to the most fabulous views of Lake Tahoe. Like being on a plane or parasail. Please pick up your litter. This is bear country and you don't want to see them killed so you can take great photos. Enjoy!
