I wasn't spwaking about Mare Island in geeral. I was speaking about Vallejo. I realize that it has fallen because of the 1995 closure. It used to be so special. I had to say that our visit was in 2016 even though it was 2015....More

The Navy gave the island to the City of Vallejo in 1996...The 515 ships built here are memorialized at the museums.. The Chapel and Victorian homes built in 1900's were built over the brick homes demolished during the 1896 earthquake.
