Nature is beautiful

Going here will definitely show how beautiful nature is. These trees were phenomenal and their grandeur has to be seen to believe.

Take the time to drive off of highway 101 and do this at least once in yiur life. Certainly it would be lovely to hike and camp in the summer, but even in the winter on a rainy day the drive was delightful. Such grand old trees!

Driving among these giants is, dare I say, a life changing experience. One cannot describe the feeling of being surrounded by these ancient beings. Plenty of stop and hike opportunities make it easy to spend a day or more exploring the solitude of roaming the redwoods. Get lost and find yourself!

The weather was cooler and a bit rainy, but that didn't dampen the experience at all! Standing in the midst of such magnificent beauty not only soothes the soul but enriches the spirit!

Hard to impress our teens these days but the redwoods of Humboldt Redwoods State Park blew them away. The Avenue of the Giants is very awe-inspiring. Many places to pull off and take a trail to be amongst these massive trees in such dark quiet forest groves. The park headquarters and museum/information center is also a 'must see' stop.

Drive really slow so you don't miss anything! Also, stop at the Park Information Center. Very informative and anything you buy helps support them. They have great, very nice people who can tell you all about the different trees.

The campsites were wonderful. We had plenty of space between us and our neighbors. The bathrooms were clean with hot showers. You do have to pay in quarters for the showers. Many hiking trails, helpful Rangers, short drive to other hikes, close to the small town for great pizza and use of wifi. Loved it!

As we continued our Pacific Coast drive from Ferndale, we entered the Humboldt Redwoods State Park along the Avenue of the Giants. It was wondrous and awesome. We found ourselves speaking in hushed tones in the presence of these magnificent living beings. We visited the Drive Through Tree which is 3,000 years old. In the area there are tree houses... More

On a journey to Crescent City, CA from Flagstaff, AZ we made Humboldt Redwoods State Park a stop on a whim. We drove in at night and made it to Burlington Campground around 8:30 PM and there were plenty of spots left. There weren't a lot of people there which was nice and made for a quiet, peaceful evening in... More

My husband and I visited the park in early November, and we were the only hikers on several of the trails. It was like they'd kept the park open just for us! We hiked for 3 days, admiring several of the groves. The only downside is that Humboldt SP is located right next to highway 101, so you can hear... More
