Drive really slow so you don't miss anything! Also, stop at the Park Information Center. Very informative and anything you buy helps support them. They have great, very nice people who can tell you all about the different trees.

The campsites were wonderful. We had plenty of space between us and our neighbors. The bathrooms were clean with hot showers. You do have to pay in quarters for the showers. Many hiking trails, helpful Rangers, short drive to other hikes, close to the small town for great pizza and use of wifi. Loved it!

As we continued our Pacific Coast drive from Ferndale, we entered the Humboldt Redwoods State Park along the Avenue of the Giants. It was wondrous and awesome. We found ourselves speaking in hushed tones in the presence of these magnificent living beings. We visited the Drive Through Tree which is 3,000 years old. In the area there are tree houses... More

On a journey to Crescent City, CA from Flagstaff, AZ we made Humboldt Redwoods State Park a stop on a whim. We drove in at night and made it to Burlington Campground around 8:30 PM and there were plenty of spots left. There weren't a lot of people there which was nice and made for a quiet, peaceful evening in... More

My husband and I visited the park in early November, and we were the only hikers on several of the trails. It was like they'd kept the park open just for us! We hiked for 3 days, admiring several of the groves. The only downside is that Humboldt SP is located right next to highway 101, so you can hear... More

We camped here 3 years ago and I wish I could have stayed again this time. The Avenue of the Giants is a great place to bike or walk but most people just drive through in their cars, stopping off at major attractions - which is a shame.

I wish that California would make traveling with dogs more enjoyable. With that said we left them and did some walks. The visitor center was planned very well and clearly have some great donations to create such a splendid center. The offering were excellent and worth stopping for. With that said, there were three staff on more interested in what... More

A must see if you want to experience the Redwood trees. Ave of the Giants is contained in the park which has many areas for stopping and visiting the redwood groves. There is a small but helpful visitor center. The park has many camping and hiking opportunities.

The Avenue of the Giants is one of the top drives in the Western United States. Winding your way through these giant trees is an absolute treat! Great places to pull off and walk through old growth redwoods. Lots of great photo ops with giant redwoods. The kiddos loved skipping rocks in the Eel River

The Grieg-French-Bell Grove is unique in the lush carpet of redwood sorel among the big trees. The paths meander in every direction giving a unique personal experience to any hike. The sorel lends a fairy tale atmosphere that you find in no other grove and glows in the subdued light. Not to be missed when touring the Park. It is... More
