Neighbourhood: West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.

If this is the new Palms then I have the correct restaurant. The restaurant I was told is a remake of an old Hollywood hot spot. We attended with a group of 9 for lunch to celebrate 2 graduates. The drinks were flowing, food and appies aboud. There were celebrities in the house when we were there on a Saturday aft. I will not name names but the waitress knew them by name which suggests they are regulars. The vibe of this place is the reason to come back. The food was not bad, either (Have the blackened chicken and try the Calamari).

Great Club... Thursday Night HIP HOP!.. it was crowded last week, and some white boys performed on stage, They were actually really good and entertaining. I give them mad props for being the only white people in the club and doin their thang.. The F.I.D Squad is the name of them. I'm hoping they perform there again soon! They are alot of fun, and they made my night.

This is a small club compared to the other clubs on the strip. Drink prices are better than others and the music is great. The dancefloor is very small and when it does get crowded it gets so hot that I would rather chill outside with the smokers. They need a better VJ to pump up the atmosphere better. Parking is right next door. It's a good place to relax the only problem that I found is that they do not have security!! I've witnessed a couple of fights and no one was there to break it up, it was right outside their club. I do not want to go to a club where we are not protected from gay bashers that attend thinking they can turn a girl straight. Until they get their act together and place at least one security guard outside I would rather go somewhere else where i wont have to worry about my safety.

The place has been there forever. very casual and fun place to hang out and be social, weds are the best night of the week, good crowd $1 drink specials. mixed crowd mostly gay girls. the new owner who has had the place for a few yrs now has really made attempts to spice up the place and has been doing a good job....they are trying to make a sat, attempt dont really like it but its ok if you just want to dance and drink, not that much of a crowd.. bar tenders awesome and a few good djs. wish they would drop the salsa thing because its not a latin club, im latin so its not a racial thing.

I've been to The Palms about three times, and I loved it! The environment is cool and the music is the best. If I could, I would be there every week.

i have been to Palms around 4 times, and i've had such a blast that i advertise this place constantly. the cover - the most i've paid is $10, the least is FREE. i think the most is $10, so it's pretty cheap, considering at times i've only paid $5 or not at all.Music - i go on saturday nights/ friday nights and they play good GOOD hip hop, [not wierd songs that no one has ever heard] great songs to dance to and grind with lol. there's trance as well i think, on some nights, along with latin music nights, but i've never been. check the local West Hollywood magazine for definite nights for themes.the place - it's kind of small (not that big) with a long hall way where the bar is located, and a dance floor in the end of the club with platforms/stages. (people can go up there if you'd like, as long as there aren't any dancers already.. at least, we went up there and no one said anything lol) there are mirrors around the walls of the dancfloor, along with places to put down drinks, so you can grind, drink AND see yourself LOL.the drinks - they have competititve prices, with strong shots, beers and mixed drinks. bar tenders are friendly, and mix drinks well. the people - they are great! if you've never been, it wont matter because people are friendly, non-threatening and laid back. everyone is just out to have a good time, whether it be inside drinking or outside where they relax and smoke. this was, along with the music, the selling point to me. i have had the best times with people i had just met in that club, and i always look forward to talking to them and seeing them.it is a lesbian bar - i.e., it is frequented by lesbians but gay/straight/whatever/ people come all the time, just to hang out and dance to good music.ethnicity wise - if anyone is wondering, on saturday nights, there is a nice mix of everyone, Asian, AFrican American, Caucasian, Latin, etc. Actually there were alot of asians the last time i went, so i was very happy about that ;p Asian pride! lol.the location - there's a parking structlose enough), and street parking [for those who don't like to pay] but beware of signs and parking enforcers. Also, if you find out you dont like it, it's 5-6 blocks away from The FActory (Girlbar) and you can simply walk around, to Rage or Mickeys or what have you. but y would you want to leave? lol.
