Experience an almost a magical feel as you hike thru a forest so peaceful, majestic and historical. One more positive adventure in the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District. We hiked but there are lots of bikes as well. Lots of options but consider the Timber view trail out to an amazing view all the way to the bay...

We started he hike around 6pm and hit the Sandstone off the Tafoni Trail and the hit the Fir Trail Vista for about 2.6 miles roundtrip. Of all the places we've been, I can't remember a place with this many mosquitos! Of the 6 of us, we probably averaged about 5 mosquito bites each! I would have given this place... More

this is a peaceful, quiet, beautiful area. long, moderately steep hills make a great workout for a hike / trail run or a ride. any loop will be quite long on foot so it tends to be in and out hikes.

We practically had the whole park to ourselves on a sunny yet frosty December day. It was a lovely area but no information station and the map was a bit hard to understand so we walked out a bit and not being able to determine if there was a loop, turned around and walked back. I love when the pau

My family wanted a wilderness experience minutes away from our big city home. This did the trick. We hiked to the interesting and unusual Tafoni Rock. It was a nice leisurely hike with ocean views. We did not encounter another soul, excepting at the parking area. There was a lack of wildlife sightings, although we did find one Banana Slug.... More

Skegg point or El Corte de Madera is a great place to ride your mountain bike. The place has numerous loops you can make with steep and some technical inclines and declines. You start on the top so remember you have to climb out the park to get back to your car. Some tips: - Woodside is the nearest little... More

I was driving Skyline so accessed this park off of Skyline. There is a variety of hiking trails; I took a shorter hike and enjoyed it. This area was once a major logging area. Parking is free.

Like Denise L’s first line says, “what an intense workout!” Wow, this was the most brutal hike I did in my three weeks of vacation. I started at Skeggs Point and headed to the Fir Trail. I passed the fog-shrouded vista point and Resolution memorial site, then headed down, down, down. Dang, that downhill trail was so steep and rutted... More

Beautiful place to hike. Trails were well-managed and reasonable. Lots of shade and pretty scenery. If you're a mountain biker, this is the place for you. Parked on Skyline by the little stone wall and the trail entrance was right there. Will definitely be coming back.
