We have a second home in Breckenridge, so have been on Boreas Pass in all the different seasons. The road is maintained from late spring until the end of October. Beautiful views of Goose Pasture Tarn in every season. Wildflowers in the spring & summer....More

We drove on parts of the Boreas Pass Road a few times on the way in and out of town and back to our rented house when visiting. Once we attempted to drive further, but then the paved road stopped, and the speed limit was...More

My dad and I took this drive on the way south towards Colorado Springs. There are some very nice leaf spotting areas and the overall drive is fairly spectacular.

Easily drivable with a regular passenger car, this Mountain Pass Drive is well worth doing. Phenomenal views, beautiful aspens, and scenery that is hard to find in the low lands. Though most of it is on a dirt road, the road is well cared for...More

We took the Boreas Pass Road from Breckenridge to Como then continued to FairPlay and returned on route 9. The dirt road porton was fantastic with great views and opportunities to explore nature along the road. We had a hand out from the visitors center...More

This unpaved road meanders across the mountains allowing for many stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. There are several great places to stop to hand hike and can easily be made into entertainment for a full day.

Went to seethe fall colors but were disappointed as it had rained and snowed the previous week and we got to see only 40% of what would have been simply gorgeous. It's worth a trip in the fall in spite of the dirt road for...More

I'm always stunned by the incedible beauty of the Rockies. Being from the Eastern US, we have nothing that quite compares. This pass is one of the most beautiful, located right in the Breck area.

This is a beautiful drive especially during the fall foliage but it can be a rather scary drive. The fall colors were beautiful and the drive is worth doing at least once, but the passengers in my car did not want to do it on...More

What TomAB9 said. I would only add that the road gets narrow at times for two cars to pass and so you might use some caution when approaching vehicles in the opposit direction.

First of all, if you are heading for Steamboat, rent a 4wd SUV. We are having an epic snow year. You will be able to get around much better in a 4wd. The other answers are correct-you wont get very far up Boreas in... More

We live in Breck and the colors are gorgeous now, but supposed to peak next weekend...of course, there is a storm that they're saying could bring some snow next weekend too!
