Due to the high winds and snow the gondola from the parking lot was not in service. We had to carry our skis quite a distance and then up 50 or more stairs, before reaching the ticket booth. Even without my sciatic nerve, it would've...More
My husband and I took an all day beginner lesson. It was great and very tiring. The staff at this resort was incredible. Everyone was very friends and helpful. We went opening weekend and it was great!
I travel to Breck often, in all seasons. One of the great things is the town itself. It's a real town, unlike many other resorts. And it has a great downtown!
My last visit was in September and I took in the annual wine festival...it...More
I usually ski at Vail or Beaver Creek, so we took a day off and went to Breckenridge, since it's part of the same ski pass. The snow was good, since the elevation is so high, but I didn't like the short runs and the...More
I visit this town annually for a long weekend in the summer to experience some of the 150 or so established hiking trails. Autumn is also a great time to visit because of cooler temperatures and fall colors. Free gondola rides from the transportation center...More
This first visit to Breckenridge was a pleasant surprise. Less glitzy than Aspen, less contrived than Vail, Breckenridge has the beauty and amenities one would expect of a ski-town with more reasonable prices and less pretension. There are several accessible hiking trails that begin within...More
Breck has some of the best terrain in the world with high alpine bowls, steep chutes, and easy greens. The down side is that it also has a ton of people, and most congregate on the intermediate terrain.
Altitude is intense. Tips if you're traveling to Breckenridge. Stop in Denver to allow your body to acclimate (for at least an hour) drink lots of water. Do not drink alcohol. You may think, nah I'm fine,..maybe even say to yourself, I need to relax...More

We buy Epic passes that last all season, so I can't answer the first question, but Chuck, from A Racer's Edge does an amazing job on making sure your rental equipment fits just right. We wouldn't go anywhere else

I don’t know Jennifer I was already snowboarding before I took my first trip to breckenridge, but I would say that from what I saw of the instructors with groups of kids learning to both ski & or snowboard on the mountain I was left very much with the impression that they were top notch A1 people employed to coach it in this resort.
I’m headed back to Breck this January 2019 but when I book up for January 2020 I’m taking my youngest son who will be seven & booking him in fo lessons there.

The tickets for "snowboard/ski school" for full day were about $150. Basically if you sign up you will get the "lessons" for about the same $ ...when you consider that the lift ticket itself is about the same price...and you get both the lift ticket and the group lessons...they do have several options. My boys were teenagers, so if you have small children there may be a better option than what we did.
