I have taken ski lessons for many years at The Breckenridge Ski School, both group and private. And, my wife and granddaughter have also taken lessons there. I think that their staff is highly professional. As someone said, lessons are quite expensive, but if you have never skied before you really need to take at least one or two lessons and Breck Ski School is the best place to learn.
