There are many things to see and do on our mountain including experiencing spectacular views as you ascend to 14,115 feet, encounter Mother Nature on our hiking trails or watch for wildlife such as deer, elk, bighorn sheep or yellow-bellied marmots. You may even spot the elusive Bigfoot during your visit. The 19 mile journey on the fully paved road to the summit begins in Cascade, Colorado, just 15 minutes west of downtown Colorado Springs. From the entrance, at an altitude of 7,800 feet (2377m) begin to explore the Pike National Forest and the natural beauty of Colorado.Along the way, you'll discover the North Slope Recreation Area, Crystal Reservoir Gift Shop, Historic Glen Cove Inn, and the Summit House. There are three lakes for fishing, picnic areas, hiking trails, and breathtaking views. Stop and watch one of our "Meet the Ranger" Interpretive Programs and learn about the history, myths, flora and fauna on the mountain. All offer visitor services and basic necessities to make your day both enjoyable and memorable.

At 14,000 feet you get a bit dizzy at the top. Make sure to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water. Beautiful views and places to stop along the highway - I actually enjoyed the drive up more than the actual peak. If you're in the area it's a must see!! The Cogway is overly crowded - the drive up... More

Be prepared to feel out of breath when you reach the top. Long winding road. Temperature at the top was 17F. Road were well maintained. There is a gift shop and a food vendor with limited snacks like chips, fries, sodas, hot chocolate and their world famous donuts. A must-see!

Been twice! We drove up to the top both times. You can take the cog railway or even so a tour where you get driven up and you ride a bike down. Bring cold weather clothes with you. It can be 80 degrees, but at the peak it's winter. You can see the continental divide. Stop by the first store.... More

Amazing mountain views are worth the effort to get up there. There is a nice cafe/restaurant on the bottom with great Bison Burgers too.

Amazing view above 14,000 feet we didn't use the train we ride on car. Ride was scary but the view is beautiful. As u drive up there are multiple stops in which u can stretch see the view and take photos. Especially the lake in the middle of the mountain. It was not snowing in the bottom. But once we... More

The drive up was not for the faint of heart. Endless horizon views with steep drop offs make you pay attention, but for the passengers who can enjoy the view, it is spectacular. When you get to the top, the views are worth the trip and then some. If the train had gone to the top (it does not during... More

If you have the time and some cash, this is well worth the trip. It cost us $10 each to enter the park, but the views are worth it. Due to the winter snow, the last 2 miles of road were closed, but you could see for miles and miles and miles across the top of the Rockies and across... More

First up amazing views at 14000ft Summit not to mention numerous fun stop offs on the way up. Take your time on the drive and enjoy these. What was amazing is that it is possible to drive this relatively safely. Lots of horror stories about the condition of the roads but for me they were more or less perfect. Keep... More

Not worth going unless it's in the summer. It's so cold & windy at the top no one every wants to stay. We use the bathrooms, grab a snack & leave. We have gone multiple times throughout the year. It's kind of pricey for those on a budget. Try to go in one vehicle then it's cheaper.

We were going to drive up Pikes Peak but unfortunately it would cost $35 to go. I don't understand why you have to pay that much to drive up a mountain :(
