Colorado Springs is home to America’s ONLY mountain zoo. Located at 6,800 feet above sea level, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo offers breathtaking views of the city and of its 750 animals. The unique design of the Zoo’s animal exhibits gets guests closer than ever before. Hand-feed one of the largest reticulated giraffe herds in the world, watch grizzlies swim with trout, hop next to red-necked wallabies and get hands on with some of the Zoo’s smaller residents in The Loft. Have a WILD adventure at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo – see the animals, ride an antique carousel, eat a gourmet lunch at the Grizzly Grill and ride the Mountaineer Sky Ride to the Zoo’s summit. This is one of the best zoos I have ever been to. The giraffe feeding area is so cool and the kids absolutely love seeing the big purple tongues grabbing the lettuce. The walk through the zoo can be a bit strenuous as it is...More

This zoo is spectacular. It is pricey - about $20 to $25/person - but our family agreed the price was absolutely worth it. The exhibits are terrific and the overall scenery of the zoo is incredible. The zoo is very hands-on throughout for example, we...More

The electric safari at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo was amazing! There were lights everywhere, and many of them moved to tell stories. My favorite moving lights display was an elephant shaking an apple tree to eat, and then the tree breaks. There were campfires spread throughout...More

I love the hands on at this zoo! And the staffs attentiveness to everyone! They also have amazing programs throughout the year! If you have teenagers and live in the area look into their zoo crew program! And if you’re visiting in December, check out...More

The animals were awesome to see up, close, and personal. We enjoyed our time there. It was a great workout too. Please time your time a view the whole zoo. We discover we miss some parts, but we still had a really great time.

This is our favorite zoo and place to take my guests visiting Colorado Springs. It's lovely with animals. Most of the big animals have natural habitat and not in a cage. Animals are well fed. Beer prepared to walk, climb up the hill and enjoy...More

Went here at night for the Xmas lights show and it was surprisingly fun. Was worried about the cold but they had fire pits stationed throughout. Most of the animals were either sleeping or put away inside but we still had a good time.

This is a great zoo however if you are not use to some altitude don't do it on your first day. The whole zoo is on the hill side. They do have some elevators though!! Great views and wonderful array of animals!!

You wouldn't think about a mountainside zoo, but it's amazing. It's a heck of a workout so if you aren't in shape, need to take the shuttle to the top and work your way down. I couldn't believe the food. It just didn't seem like...More
