Lots of walking but great variety of animals to see. The park does provide tram services. The parking is not as large as I'd like to see but I've always found a spot to park.

This was one of the best zoos I have been to. The kids loved it. It has a great experience. You need to pay for each item you feed the animals. So it’s not included in the zoo admission, but it does help the animals...More

We love this zoo. The unique landscape, being built into the side of the mountain, is unlike any other zoo. There is a good variety of animals, and several hands-on opportunities. Feed the giraffes and elephants, pet a wallaby, have a lorikeet perch on you...More

The zoo is literally on a mountainside. Be prepared to do a lot of walking. Remember, Colorado Springs is 6000 to 7000 feet above sea level, a higher altitude than Denver. There is an aerial chairlift style guide, which offers a great view of the...More

This zoo has a few unique features that are well-worth the trip. First, being on the side of a mountain makes for incredible views. It also requires a lot of up and downhill walking which we love since it forces us to exercise a bit....More

Awesome zoo, but take note of "mountain" in the name - literally everything is uphill. It is 100% worth it to pay the $2 fee to ride the shuttle to the top and then work your way down to the exit. The shuttles have ramps...More

We are a family of four with sons aged 6 and 9. We have been wanting to visit for several years and this place did not disappoint. The highlight is definitely the giraffe exhibit, which feels more like a goat petting zoo than an exhibit...More

The zoo is built on the side of a mountain, and you can tell that both creativity and care for the visitor went into it. Kids should love the opportunities to feed the animals, or watch the animals play - but call ahead to find...More

This is a very nice, clean and entertaining zoo! If you don't mind walking some hills, this is a great walking experience. They do have trollies to help you up the big hills.
