I like going to this park. First of all i'm a railroad nut and this park abuts the now Union Pacific railroad. Trains go by regularly. This park has pavilions that can be reserved for group outings. There is also a city swimming pool. And of course the walking and cycling trail runs along the eastern edge of the park.... More

It's an empty stretch by downtown along the busy highway with a creek. Grass is kept green. The highway noise is ever present. There are a lot of homeless people loitering at the entrances. Parking can be tricky. Downtown is mostly metered parking.

Nice walking/running/bicycling paths along Fountain Creek called Pikes Peak Greenway passes through the park. You can go north to Fillmore or Woodmen or south to downtown. All the tennis courts have been turned into pickle ball courts, near the Fine Arts Center and Colorado College campus.

I would never suggest going here alone or at night. There's a large population of homeless people. We took 2 of my daughters graduation pictures here because of the surroundings, though. I would never let my kids play here alone. The park covers 2 blocks so you have to do some walking but you can feed the ducks along the... More

An absolutely beautiful place untouched by development. Being here brought back memories of all the westerns I watched as a child and in my adult years. It is amazing just how the natural structures appear to have been created for the viewer, but instead were created over time. Do not miss it.

During a Caravan Grand Canyon Tour (which I highly recommend), we stopped in Monument Valley for a few hours. Aside from the spectacular scenery, we enjoyed a nice lunch, and even though it was crowded, the service was excellent, as was the food. The stopping point has the restaurant, a museum, a gift shop, and even a John Wayne cabin.... More
