There is history here, but you will find it better in a book. Most of the shops are very touristy. If you are pressed for time and can only see a few things go elsewhere.

Definitely an afternoon shopping trip. Many shops with unique and eclectic items. A great selection of eating stops as well.

We happened upon this on our way home and window shopped for a few hours. There are a few stores where you can pick up some souvenirs for less expensive than other stores and everyone here was very friendly.

Love old Colorado City charm. It does have some unique shops . On the first Friday of the month from April thru December they have a Art Walk from 5-8 pm where you can see what stores located between 23rd ave and 27th have to...More

Most of the area has newer building, but the Pioneer Museum is in the old courthouse. The building itself is a gem with marble, painted ceilings, art...just gorgeous. The exhibits are very interesting and well done.

If you're visiting Colorado Springs this is a must-do walk about. We're locals and we still head to Old Colorado to look for new art, dinner, cocktails and an occasional post-dinner shin-dig (dancing). Lunch and Dining recommendations include Paravicini's (with a new upstairs lounge) ,...More

I went here one afternoon and browsed all the little shops in the area. There are also several historical items relating to the gold mine. They also have a historic building in the park. The shops are mainly small business. You have to pay to...More

We went there to have lunch and shop. Seems to me that since our last visit of 2 yrs ago that there are fewer places to eat and limited shopping. after walking around (in the heat) we left.

The majority of the better restaurants and people services seem to be on the west side of Colorado Springs (and on Tejon Street). I wouldn't call Old Colorado City an "attraction" but we always stop someplace on the west side (including Old Colorado City and...More

Enjoyed visiting all the shops here. They have a nice park here but several homeless people were sleeping on the benches.

The two previous answers cover the situation except to say that there are some really good off the beaten path restaurants in the "Old" City.

Sorry for the delay in response, I have been away. Old Colorado City business hours vary as noted by some of the other responses. The best bet is to call ahead or check the merchants website but most shops open between 10am... More
