The vibrancy of pre covid gentrification efforts has sadly suffered immensely. The homeless people have overrun the area and city management have ceased to do anything to help the issues. Sadly, this is an example of what happens when heavy drug use and mental health aren’t addressed and now the area has been infiltrated with scary, erratic people that made me feel very unsafe on my last visit. I had also recommended many places to a client of mine to visit this September when they were staying at the Crawford and they both reported they felt very unsafe and my client’s wife was almost accosted one night. We have chosen to stay in Cherry Creek when we are in town. Such a shame, as we used to love to stay at Oxford or Crawford and walk to all the bars and restaurants in the area. Denver needs to address the safety issues or else this once vibrant area will return to its former skid row vibes.

I didn’t expect to find Denver dirtier and smellier than my hometown, which has earned the nickname of Filthadelphia, but I did. As others have posted, on a warm day, this area smells like urine. Trash is everywhere and there are people acting erratically, even in during the day. Weirdly, many things are closed on Sundays, even the CVS, and our hotel bar was closed when we arrived at around 10:30 on a Friday night.

I greatly enjoyed other parts of Colorado, so unless you have a reason to visit Denver, I would recommend skipping it.

The bars need to close earlier to avoid all the things that happen between 12am and 2am, especially shootings. Too many drunk fools walking the streets and it is very dirty. Lots of trash everywhere.

Lots to do. It was close to lots of hotels and places to eat. We walked there from the Hyatt Regency.

Welcome to twenty first century accommodations!

The far western skyline is draped by the Rocky Mountains, and the front range Mild November sun splashed days brighten this one of a kind property.

It is a perfect neighborhood to explore on foot even though the free 16th Street Mall bus shuttle makes it easier for those who do not fancy urban hikes. A lot of homeless but not nearly as many as in Philadelphia Pa, Portland Or or Washington DC. The streets are lively and reasonable safe. Many interesting stores and endless dining options.

Great place to stay, with lots of restaurant options around. There was a fair amount of homeless around. We noticed these taxes on anything we bought which we found out was a historical preservation tax, and found a lot of places charge up to 24% for service and preservation fees. This was just an unexpected expense to the budget. If you are looking for a trendy location with lots of options i walking distance, LoDo is perfect.

LoDo is the area of town where most tourists/visitors either start or end up. Besides the myriad of hotels, shops, bars and restaurants, there is also Union Station and Coors Field. There is a free shuttle that travels the length of 16th Street in a loop. This is where the action is!
