My wife and I were having a good time touring the grounds with our two children UNTIL we stopped by the 4 Mile House itself. No signs indicated how or where to enter the house. The front door was locked, so we started to walk down stairs to what appeared a lower entry. A few steps down an old man... More

They give tours on the half hour. We arrived at 1:30 only to find out the tour was full and had already left. We were told we could pay to go in ($5 each for 5 of us) to look around and wait an hour for the next tour. We could not see the main house when we went in.... More

It's amazing what you can find in your own backyard. After driving by the sign for this park hundreds of times, we finally decided to check it out. I loved it! My son, not so much, especially since there was only one other family there the day we went and none of the park's activities were open. For the entrance... More

This park does have buildings that are decorated with 1880's or so style tools and such, but it is just not that much fun for little kids. Perhaps older children would find it more entertaining. If you go on a hot day expect to bake there is not a ton of shade and the buildings of course do not have... More

Started the morning out with a tour of the Four Mile Historic Park before taking a walking tour of the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Landis, our tour guide, did a great job of helping us re-live the lives of the families that first settled the Cherry Creek area. If you are looking to get an overview of the history of Denver,... We planned a trip with our Summer Elementary Camp of 50 students. Due to heavy traffic we arrived late. Right off the bat the staff was short and snippy with us. We received a brief orientation and then the staff disappeared. We did not have a tour guide as promised, we were not give a map to navigate the property... More

Great for an afternoon with the kids. They will get a real feel for how life was in this part of the country 150 years ago.

The 1800s come alive at Historic four mile park. From the actors in period dress to the buildings and crafts, it is a place the whole family can enjoy. The summer camps offered for kids are fantastic!!

If you love living history museums you will love this place. It is in the middle of Denver now but gives a real flavor of what it must have been like in the 1800s. Taking a tour is the best way to see it.
