We enjoyed this scenic drive to Echo Lake. Make sure you bring layers as it is quite a bit colder as you climb in elevation. Also plan more time than you think you will need in order to enjoy the overlooks and trails.

So glad they have a paved road up Mt. Evans. We went in mid-Sep and the top part was closed but the stop at Summit Lake was impressive - beautiful views, freezing cold and WINDY - white caps on the little lake. Restroom available. There...More

We were here for fall foliage and had planned for many drives along the suggested mountain highways for doing such. Luckily, we made our drive on the Mt Evans highway before it was closed for the season/bad weather. Wonderful Rocky Mountain drive with new views...More

Summer at the bottom and winter at the top, so be prepared with warm clothes! The road is only open through Labor Day.

No need to drive for hours to enjoy Colorado's mountain scenery, lakes, wildlife. And you are typically rewarded with the presence of Big Horn sheep at the top of Mt Evans. Take your time getting there, stop and enjoy the lake along the way.

Beautiful views drive up and down the mountain takes a while but worth the time. It was in the mid 80's on the ground and hail and cold at the top. Very cool to see.

We spent the afternoon driving the mount evans scenic byway and it was amazing. Colorful trees leaves changing at peak of season. Beautiful views of the area from evergreen covered mountains to snow capped peaks. Loved every minute of the drive.

Bendy switchbacks, narrow passing places, goats on the road, blind bends, all great fun - and take in to account we are from the uk , driving on the wong side of the road on and automatic gears ....
