The entire drive holds beautiful scenery, vistas, and clean air. Because Mt Evans has so much to offer, there can be a lot of traffic that the trip becomes as much about playing "dodgem" as enjoying the abounding wonders. Best to visit during slow hours...More

Great scenic drive, worth it. Great spots, to pull over take pictures or to get out and enjoy the atmosphere. Which ever you prefer.

We had a nice trip away from the city. The air is clean, the view: amazing. The altitude affects you but the experience is different for each person.

The first thing that must be said is that Mt. Evans is higher than Pike's Peak. It is also the highest one way paved road in America. The fee is $15 per carload. You can ask for free passage if you absolutely do not set...More

Fantastic drive with lots of wonderful views. A great road to take if you're trying to show those from out of state the magic and beauty of Colorado.

Views will take your breath away. You will most likely see Big horn sheep so bring the camera and walking shoes. Take your time to stop at the look outs to see wonderful scenery and take great pictures.

There is no lodging at the top. Closest place to stay would be Bergen Park or Idaho Springs. As always, in Colorado, higher elevation will be cooler. We have a coat and gloves in car readily available with when traveling... More

It could be a blizzard or it could be in the 70s. Just depends on the year. We always dress in layers. That way you can add or subtract depending on the weather.
HOw far is this from Denver? And how long does it take to drive up and back without stoping? Description says 2 hours, is that one way or up and back ?
