It was beautiful and full of history. The tours were full so buy tickets the day before or go early. Even though we were unable to do the tours we enjoyed stopping at the overlooks. Bring water for trails! I did see a rattlesnake. Will...More

Our day with Frank Miller was fantastic! If we would have gone on our own, we would have been bored. Frank imparted a plethora of information in an interesting way. He is a local, and he is a Native American with great insight.

Yes Desiree, some of the Ranger-Guided Tours at Mesa Verde are not available during the winter but the scenery is amazing and touring the cliff dwellings on your own is exciting as you pointed out. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Thank you for sharing Susan! Getting to the park early is very important to secure your tours of the cliff dwellings. I hope you got a good photo of the grand kids in all four states!

National Park passes are a great way to save money if you are visiting several parks in one year. Mesa Verde is the first National Park as an archaeological preserve. Thanks Maggie!

Step House is our favorite self-guided tour. Mesa Verde is such a big park it can take two days to see, and even then you'll miss of it! Thank you Heather_Geo.
