I used to live on the West ridge of Horsetooth reservoir for many years so I speak from experience. Hikers and mountain bikers should be aware there is a serious rattlesnake population in the area. If you go climbing into the hills be very wary of where you step and place your hands. In addition, very few people ever venture... More

Horsetooth is a great place to kayak, especially in the winter. On a sunny day in the winter the water is flat and there are no motorboats to create wakes. Park at South Bay and put in at the boat ramp. The Rangers say it is not a problem to use the ramp for kayaks even if a chain is... More

Horse tooth is a great place to get away from it all close to Fort Collins. Great views of Longs Peak and the mts and plains. Tons of interconnecting bike and hiking trails where u will hear wild turkeys squawking in the trees. Also great views of Horsetooth reservoir

This is one of Fort Collins favorites. Stunning views, hiking, water sports, mountain biking, climbing, photography...you name it you can enjoy it here. For individuals craving adventure you've got it and only 15 minutes from town. For those desiring a more laid back experience take a driving tour and stop at one of the parking areas to enjoy the scenery,... More

Old Town Yoga in Ft. Collins offers paddle board yoga classes here during the summers which BTW fill up super fast. They meet at the reservoir and then paddle over to a nearby cove. There's also great fishing on the lake from what I have seen along with hiking and biking trails. For my fellow history nerds, there's an actual... More

This open space offers several hiking trails and beautiful scenery. You can hike to the Horsetooth Falls for a shorter, easier hike, or up to Horsetooth Rock for more of a challenge. Dog friendly is always a plus! The parking lot gets very busy in the summer, especially on weekends, and there is a day use fee (I believe $7... More

What a view... the landscape is breathtaking. You can drive around to enjoy the view or hike. During summer, you can paddle boat, sail, fish, swim etc...

A good hiking trail. We climbed up and then crossed over where we could see the reservoir. Then we walked out on the horse tooth falls side. Good trails for the dogs.

We went hiking at Horsetooth over the Thanksgiving day holiday. While the parking is fairly limited, the hiking trails are great. We really enjoyed it.
