We were in Fort Collins for a wedding weekend and had all day Saturday to ourselves. After a long walk down Mountain Ave (beautiful neighborhood) we doubled back to check out The Avery House. Nicely restored historic home, but the best part was learning about the Avery family...little peek back in time. An hour is plenty of time to allow.

Happened to be in Ft. Collins. Marsha K was the docent. Excellent tour. She is very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the tour very much; if you visit Ft Collins, definitely visit Avery House to learn about the history of Ft Collins and see the beautiful home and its antiques.

This house and the house behind it bring back lots of memories. Family friends lived there in the 60s.

This is a well-maintained home from the turn of the 19th to 20th centuries. Much of the furnishings are original. The house itslef is beautiful inside and out. Guided tours are given, one group at a time. The guide we had was very knowlegeable. There are no phontos allowed inside. This is for very good reasons, if you are curious... More

Open year around on weekends, 1pm to 4pm. Stopped by for a tour. Volunteer staff is excellent and knowledgeable. Period furnishings are good and the place will give you a better understanding of times of the past. Yard is beautiful in the summer and sometimes you'll see a wedding on the lawn. A good stop for history lovers.

Went with a friend. Enjoyed the old house & knowledgeable tour guide. Hearing the history of the house & it's contents was exciting. They even have the diary of a child who lived in the house, hearing the story of how the diary was found was amazing. Love the old architecture.

I squeezed in a tour of the Avery House, as I had limited time in Fort Collins and as I walk many places, I walked to the Avery House from 'Old Town Square', and at a brisk walk it may have taking about ten minutes to get there. The Avery House is wonderful, the architecture is fantastic, the furniture and... More

When touring the Colorado State Campus, you drive through many residential neighborhoods. This house while nice, is not a worthwhile stop.

We visited with some friends during the pre-Christmas holiday period when parts of the house were decorated. This was nice as were the permanent fixtures, most of which are original to the house. And learning some of the family history from the period-costumed docent was interesting as well. The Avery family was truly very prominent in the history of Fort... More

A charming historic Fort Collins residence, with numerous original furniture pieces. Knowledgeable docents and no wait time, even for open house. Christmas decorations were wonderful, quaint and memorable. Harks back to a simpler time.
