Located in historic downtown Golden, Foothills Art Center enriches the local community as a cultural destination for residents and guests to discover, create, enjoy and learn about contemporary and historic fine craft. Here you will find unusual and inspiring objects in wood, ceramics, fiber, glass, metals and other fine craft media. Our three galleries are set in 19th-century historic buildings, including a Gothic-style church, Queen Anne manse, and Victorian mansion. And our Gift Gallery offers one-of-a-kind treasures handmade by Colorado artists.

Old converted church provides a good gallery for art exhibits and shows. Was surprised that they required an entry fee, as most art centers do not. A significant juried show was displayed in a very good presentation in a very nice facility.

For a modest art center, the exhibits are stimulating and stellar. After most visits, you will leave thinking.

The displays are small limited to special exhibitions it seems. There were a few connected rooms. The offerings in the gift shop, 3 rooms large have wonderful offerings. Great cards, jewelry, pottery all made by artists, so if you are looking for a gift to take home or celebration this is the place.

Over the years, I've spent a lot of time in this place, looking at art of all kinds, buying small gifts and just enjoying the quiet space outside. It's up a hill and worth the climb, a nice respite for the day.

I love that this smaller venue has such a Colorado vibe to it. It's got history and the exhibits that come through here just feel more personal.

Has been in Golden for decades. If you are an artsy type, you will love the Foothills Art center. There is usually parking available in the back.,

Currently they have a local art holiday market up in all the galleries. Over 80 Colorado artists are showing and seeking work in this Holiday show that runs thru December 31st.

Any time of the year, the Art Center features an interesting show, and offers different media: photography, paint, sculpture, etc. Visit around the holidays and find some great presents.

Lovely changing exhibits, currently Ansel Adams' photos are featured, along with the photos of mountaineering museum founder, Bradford Washington, and one other photographer whom I have forgotten. Good photos, entrance fee a little expensive for 2 small rooms and a video, still worth while. The gift shop features a few local artists, and is quite nice.

I agree with other reviews, a little expensive for two rooms ,but his art is very good! Could do without the two volunteers talking so much and so loud, Golden has changed so much but still alot of free parking thanks!
