Pioneer life in the hills and canyons near Golden was harsh, difficult, and not for the faint of heart. Most who survived in the beautiful, if inhospitable region, succeeded as farmers and ranchers. Relive the experience by exploring the blacksmith shop, log cabins, hay barn and root cellar. Visit with our heirloom-breed chickens and discover a buzzing beehive. On select days, interact with costumed interpreters who enliven the landscape with cooking and blacksmithing demonstrations. Step inside the one-room Guy Hill Schoolhouse and take a seat in a student’s desk, but don’t wisecrack to the school mistress!

Walking though the park on a Saturday used to almost guarantee that someone would be in one of the buildings sewing, cooking, or some activity. I have been though strolling a couple times since August, I have not had this experience any more. It makes me sad that these building are no more than a back drop for a photo session.

I had some time to kill so I stopped to check out this history park. I was not disappointed. What a beautiful walk and interesting park. Unfortunately I stopped to early and none of the buildings were open but it was definitely worth the stop anyways.

After a wonderful lunch at The Bridgewater Grill we stepped down the stairs to this beautiful park! We walked along Clear Creek and admired all the artwork and the bit of history we encountered along the way. Didn't have a whole lot of time but I will return to see it all. Many families were on the shore relaxing in... More

Beautiful views all around, along with an old time pioneer village. Saw lots of families & kids petting the chickens. You can also just stroll along the scenic trail & walk your dog or ride a bike-very peaceful.

This is a great place to walk around, ride your bike and see the old structures. There were people wading in the water and tubing down the stream.

This one truly has something for everyone. You can stroll or run along the creek, and visit the historic buildings most any time of year. In the spring and summer, there are tubers and kayakers in the creek. There are large trees, nice picnic areas, and interesting old buildings to see.

During my stays in Golden, I took a morning walk along the clear creek trail. The trail is along the river with beautiful view of the mountain. There are runners and dog walkers along the trail. Every one is very friendly. It's good place to enjoy a walk to run with friends or yourself. Also along the trail, there are... More

People were wading, tubing, swimming. Great for anybody but especially kids and dogs. Nice public art: fish, butterflies, elk, and more. Clean, accessible.

If you have some time to walk around it is interesting to see these buildings. You can also read the plaques with historical information on them.

It had to be a short visit because of s heavy hailstorm that sent us back to our car. What we saw was very nice.
