My wife and I visited the Colorado Model Railroad Museum on our Colorado vacation. Admittedly, I’m the rail fan between the two of us, but we both found the railroad fascinating and incredibly detailed. (We took a few photos of scenes to incorporate into my...More

Just north of Denver. Fantastic and huge HO scale model RR exhibit. Completely worth the admission. Lovingly and beautifully maintained (just try to find a broken piece). Three-four levels in some places. You could wander here for several hours looking for everything that can be...More

While it's not anywhere near the biggest HO layout either in the US or the world, it is large enough to fascinate an interested observer for over an hour. There are train-related activities to the side for kids, and comfy seats for the less enthusiastic...More

This railroad took numerous years for dedicated railroad buffs to put on quiet a show! There is a dinosaur hunt, how many can you find? Amazing detail of the terrain, tunnels, store buildings like a small town would have. People who work there are very...More

My family are members so we go often. The scavenger hunt is fun for both adults and kids. We went for Autism Group. They are always wonderful, helpful, patient, and entertaining. If you love trains, it's a must.

My 2 year old grandson loved this museum. Everywhere you turn there are very detailed models and trains. Worth a visit for the family.

The main layout in the museum is in fact HO scale which is a 1:87 ratio. The museum also has an O scale and a G scale layout and we are working on a small N scale one that was recently donated.

They have a game for the kids where they need to search for items, that can take about an hour. There's plenty to see in a smaller place, about 7000-10000 square feet, a few hours should be enough time.
