I was planning to drive to this place but a little search over the internet made me know that this place is permanently closed. So please don't take the pain of driving in this remote location and get disappointed later.

The vineyard was totally CLOSED! Except for us, 3 couples, being there, no one else was in sight. The gates were closed.
It would be appreciated if it is made known to visitors who intend to visit that this vineyard is totally closed to avoid visitors wasting time to drive all the way there to be disappointed.

After a long drive to Sik ( this place is situated at a rural area , thus not easy to search it ).then ,we realize that it's actually closed . ( Permanently close ).perhaps the weather nowadays is not suitable to plant grape. I hope this review helpful so that people won't spend hours and then found it is no longer there.

We paid RM 6 just to walk around one small Green House with grapes hanging and that's all! Nothing else. No one explained to you about the grapes and you have to ask them.

Not worth to visit as it is so rural and literally nothing special but the hanging grapes on tree!

I found it surprising to have grapes plantations in northern part of Peninsular Malaysia. I have never heard before that Malaysia can plant grapes. It is a surprising discovery.

After much research, I found out there are two plantations in northern Malaysia, one in Kangar and one in Sik.

Beris Lake Vineyard is situated in Sik. Quite a distance away from everything. Follow Google Map and you should find this place. It took us quite some time to reach here from Alor Setar.

The lake is very beautiful. It is a dam surrounded by forest and trees.

Beris Lake Vineyard is a small vineyard around the area. There is another sister plantation in Kampung Sungai Senang, about 12km from here. The vineyard in Kampung Senang has bigger coverage area than Beris Lake Vineyard.

According to one of the local caretaker Ms Sakina, the trees took about 1 years to grow, and 4 months to bear fruits. The process of attending these trees are very tedious. It cannot have too much sunlight, or too much water, and needs lots of fertilizers to make the fruits grow and retain their sweetness. Currently, the grapes production in Sik area only enough to supply for local consumption.

Inside Beris Lake Vineyard, you will find rows of grape trees that have fruits for nice photo taking. The entrance fees is RM6, it includes entrance to Kampung Sungai Senang's vineyard. The toilet is situated at the far back of the vineyard. There is a cafeteria that sells limited food, a souvenir shop for its grape products and merchandise. Next to the cafeteria, there is a staircase that goes down to the lake front to enjoy beautiful view of Lake Beris.

Try the local grapes on sale and artificially flavoured grape drinks (choose the one with pulp in tin can). It would have been nice if they have grape-flavoured ice-cream for sale, as the day was super hot and sunny!

Great outing for families. Please remember to take photos with the hanging fruits on the trees, and beautiful Beris Lake. It is worth the trip!

I was quite surpised to see a grape vineyard beside the scenic Beris Lake in Sik. This place is an eye-opener to most people who have no knowledge that grapes can be grown and harvested on Malaysian climate. There is a cafe nearby but it was not opened during our visit here as it was the muslim fasting month.
There is a shop nearby the entrance to the vineyard and visitors can purchase fresh grapes, canned grape juice and a variety of souvenirs such as mugs, slippers, recycle bags, etc.
An awesome place to take photos especially the lake and surrounding scenery.

Beris Lake Vineyard comes with a large car park (unpaved), very well laid out, organised and clean for what is effectively a farm. As for grapes, we could have visited during the off season for there were not many grapes growing from the vines. Nevertheless, great to introduce children to a well organised, modern farm not forgetting the still quite novel notion of growing grapes in the tropics.

The vineyard is good for educational purpose to the children.
It is strategically located beside the Beris Lake at the first bridge over the lake.
Expected nice photo shots with the lake.
