Had not been here in quite a while. What a great place it has turned into. When my son was a teen and then a young adult he spent many many hours here. Now he will rest here again and be where he loved..

This is now a state park so there is an entrance fee. But it is a beautiful sight to see. Lots of people on the water, having picnics, bike riding, or walking around. The views everywhere are amazing. I think it is a must see...More

We love to go you paddle board at Chatfield. It’s such a great place for outdoor activities like paddle boarding, horseback riding, cycling, picnicking and boating. The off leash dog park is the best in town in my opinion. They have ponds for dogs to...More

Bird watcher's paradise along the Platte River makes an enjoyable walk. Beavers display a number of dams and lodges and spring wild flowers decorate the trail. Husband and I took our dog for a 5 mile walk, saw lots of paddle boats and canoes. Only...More

Chatfield State Park has one of the best off-leash dog parks in the metro area. Also, lots of opportunities for water sports: boating, waterskiing, SUP, etc. Small entrance charge and can get very crowded in the summer.

We stayed 4 nights - reservations are almost a must - nice laid out park spacious sites with picnic tables - have to enter the west side for camping - construction going on between east and west gates - full hookups - will repeat !

I have enjoyed camping out here a few times, but it is always windy. Unless you have a boat, I'm not sure I would make the trip when you can go to so many other places nearby. Of course, it's never been crowded any time...More

It's $2 per entry or $20 per year. Does not include main park entrance but we have a state park pass. There is a lake with sandy beach that dogs can run/swim in. Flush toilet bathroom at main entrance. Poop bags/trash throughout. There is a...More

A person can boat, hike, bike riding, swim, camp, ride horses, take a nice walk and just enjoy nature as it is.

Yes. You do need life jackets. I've been there when the ranger ordered people to exit the paddle board lake because they didn't have life jackets.
