Quickly accessible and full immersion into nature. Love this hike any time of year. It's beautiful and moderate and close enough but still feels like a natural getaway for an hour or two.

Been going here for years and it's always a fun place to visit with the great scenery, easy trails and a few people although I think that I like Roxborough State Park a little more; they seem to be very similar.

A great hiking trail that is well marked and not over-crowded. You can stay on the lower trails for an easy hike or head up-hill for a more strenuous work-out. The rock formations make the hike more interesting because they are beautiful with holes that...More

One of the best loops is slightly over 2 miles, is well marked and an easy hike with moderate uphill and no bikes on about 3/4 of the trail. Lots of friendly people to advise you on your first hike on the trail. Plenty of...More

I've run a few times at Deer Creek Canyon. The trails are well maintained. They are mainly hard pack with some rocky, technical areas in spots. The bathrooms are real, flush toilets and kept clean. There is water available. This park also allows dogs on...More

Fun park in the foothills to hike. I highly recommend it, but it gets hot so don't forget your water bottle.

Nor for Deer Creek Canyon but you might also include Roxborough State Park, where there is a $7 fee. It is close to this canyon and it had some spectacular scenery and hiking.
