This is a great place to see red rock formations and hike. The hikes can be short or longer so good for families and all levels of hikers.

This is a really beautiful place. The main loop is easy - mostly flat and wide gravel trail with some steeper side trails that take you to overlooks you should not miss. Highly recommend Roxborough for when you want to stick closet to home.

Decided to do something outdoors while our guests were here. We decided to Roxborough State Park since it was close, about 20 miles away. We all piled in to the oversized SUV and headed south. Very easy to find. The entrance fee is $7.00 per...More

Roxborough is one of the more unique geological sites in the country. The rock formations are beautiful red rocks. There are several hiking trails that wind through the rocks or can take you to the top of several mountain peaks. Watch out for rattlesnakes.

Not much there other than the walks. Nice rock formations to view. Some history markers and lots of wild flowers.

We hiked all the way to the top. Elevation gain was about 1,000 feet. I would describe this hike as below moderate - we're in good shape and hike and mountain bike regularly. There is both exposure and shade. Pretty hike. We would do it...More

Roxborough is a very nice hiking location if you’re looking for something within 45 minutes of Denver. We rented a car and hit the road and it was an easy drive to the park. Fate was with us as it happened to be Colorado Day,...More

Don't have a lot of time? Take the Fountain Valley Trail and be sure to visit the overlooks for stunning views of the red rocks of the Fountain Formation.

Hi. If you have a State park pass you can get in for free, if not it is a daily fee of $8.00 . Be prepared to have cash on hand in case no one is at front booth then you have to place in a slot. It's worth the beauty. Hope... More

I think there is a park nearby that is closed but Roxborough was alive and well when we visited in September. Mike
