Carpenter Peak Trail

Moderate one hour to magnificent view of front range. Hike down naturally much easier. Bring water and be prepared for weather change.

Great park for nature enthusiasts and hikers of varying skill levels. Absolutely gorgeous scenery and well-groomed trails. Be aware that the parking lot is small and there are no pets or bikes allowed on the trails. Not necessarily a bad thing, it's nice to not have to watch out for manic cyclists or dog droppings, however, this is one reason... More

We've been here many times because it's close in and a great place to partake in a scenic hike or trail, run for a workout. I've never been dissapointed and a great place to visit across all seasons.

The park was packed. They have limited parking so we were really lucky that we showed up so early. Well groomed trails and very helpful and friendly rangers.

Very nice state park with well maintained trails. Since it's not too far from Denver, it perfect for a day hike or half-day hike.

This was a wonderful place to take our out-of-town guests the Saturday after Thanksgiving to stretch our legs. It was an easy walk for the 5 year old as well as the 72 year old. It's a great little getaway place from South Denver if you enjoy Garden of the Gods and want to experience Colorado without hitting the slopes,... More

Respect the land :-) As a native Coloradan, I like the geological allure akin to that of Garden of the Gods. Well worth a jog around or leisurely walk year round.

Very nice trails, clear signs, magnificent views!!!! Definitely recommend all trails!!!! The only reservation - on the Carpenter Peak trail there is a way to do a loop if one takes USFS 800 trail back - DON'T. It's boring, not scenic at all. Not too bad, just not worth your time unless you are doing a long run and need... More

We visited here with two teenage grandchildren and a 5 month old grandchild. We split into two groups with the teens headed for the harder trail and the baby on the path for the stroller. Beautiful views, nice visitor center without traveling too far from Denver.
