The museum itself is nice but you are given a guided tour which last over 2 hours. I am one who prefers to tour a museum at my leisure and by myself. They do not allow this.More

Arrived on a very slow day so had the place to ourselves. Personal tour by Kate , knew so much and very keen to tell us all she knew. Very interesting, and amazing the work that had gone into collecting all the artifacts and buildings.

Plenty to see and well-trained docents can walk you through all of it. Since my last visit, the new sheriff’s office incorporating the 19th c. Ouray County jail was completed and is very interesting. There is always some new treat in preparation and right now...More
