We decided to visit this museum because of the positive reviews on TripAdvisor and now we are also giving this place a positive review. Curtis, the owner was delightful and entertaining. Our family had a personal tour that lasted 2 hours. Curtis weaves a story of 4000 years of pharmacy history. He has interesting artifacts and beautiful historical cabinetry from... More

Hi John, Thank you for your flattering review. I enjoyed meeting your family who are very intelligent people. It is encouraging to see young adults who are focused and enjoy wanting to learn history and are well-rounded. It leaves a positive feeling for the future. The museum is always changing and evolving. There will be new stories to tell. We... More

One of the highlights of a 3+ weeks in Colorado chasing fall color is the town of Ouray. The Ouray Alchemist to say the least is one of the top must do things in town We went there last year and again this year. The collection of antiques, all from Colorado is amazing. But the talk that Curt gives on... More

Jaime, Your review is very enthusiastic! The fact that you have visited us twice punctuates this even more. It goes both ways. You and your wife are delightful. It is nice to see familiar faces and wonderful to have you here for the tour. I always enjoy your humor. Hope to see you again next year. Happy trails, Curt More

Excellent presentation. Our college reunion group included several educators and ALL of us greatly enjoyed both the presentation and museum. What a fantastic way to learn more about our past. A don't miss for the beautiful town of Ouray.

What a fun group you folks were! How you are able to all stay together as friends over the years speaks volumes. I am teaching teachers and am humbled by your positive response. Thank you for your kindness to me and my wife later that evening. It was a totally unexpected surprise that we greatly appreciate. God bless you all.... More

I have always been fascinated by alchemy and pharmacy. This was the perfect little history lesson on that, and the items you get to look at are so interesting. I read the reviews before attending, and they said that time flew by. I didn't really believe them, but they were right. The tour and history lesson took about an hour... More

Thank you for your special thoughts of how you felt about your experience. I am so glad that you were able to join the tour. I appreciate how you mentioned to call ahead. It helps to know ahead of time how many folks will be here and when. Your comments make me feel good that you felt that there was... More

We just happened to see this place and went in. The tour was very interesting. I would love to go back again and take another tour so I could remember everything.

It was a delightful time meeting you. I know there was a lot of information but the tour will always be different if you come back again. So hopefully you will return for another Alchemist experience. More

The only issue with our visit with The Ouray Alchemist, was that the time went by too fast. During the tour Curt shares stories of his life and the history of medicine with visual aides from his impressive collection of artifacts, and it is awesome! My wife and I do not go to the movies because we can not sit... More

It was such an incredible time for all of us! Time can really fly when you are having fun. I really enjoyed meeting the two of you and will not forget the experience we all had. It was my pleasure to spend this time with you. I hope you will return again some day and that "The Alchemist" will be... More

We just returned from a vacation which included 2 days in Ouray, Co. While planning our trip, the Alchemist Museum was listed as a top place to visit. We were fortunate enough to meet Curtis and received a fascinating history lesson. The time passed too quickly. Curt is a rare individual of uncommon passion. He is driven to share his... More

This museum is amazing. It is not the typical western slope variety. Kurt gives a wonderful, passionate tour of the history of alchemy and how it evolved in the west. If you want something refreshing and entertaining at the same time book a tour!

Miss Kristy, Thank you for you taking the time to write a review. You and your family are always welcome at the Alchemist. It is a blessing and an honor to have some of your mother's items displayed at the museum. She was a pioneer in pharmacy and medicine and most importantly, the environment. The arsenic is safe! Best wishes... More

My wife and I were the only 10am "tour" guests. Curt presents his own version of world history from a pharmacist/alchemist point of view. It is a credit to him that he can keep it entertaining (for us it was over two hours! We were interrupted by some retail business he had to take care of in the front.) Part... More

Thank you for writing your review. The tour always changes and it is important that it lasts only for the time that you have. It is called freedom of speech, and I do have a lot to say. Hopefully those taking the tour will chime in with their own opinions and make it a colorful experience for all of us.... More

I love passioinate people, as they not only know their field of expertise, but they love to teach and share. Kurt is entertaining through his passion, not because he puts on a dog and pony show. If you are a learner, you will thoroughy enjoy this one.
